Giraffe House is a single-family dwelling on a problematic site: A busy highway is directly downhill of the site, producing significant noise and blocking the view of Cayuga Lake. Giraffe house reaches up and over the highway to get views of the lake while blocking out the view of the highway. On the north side, the house stretches out to hover over an existing gorge. In between, an office and entry space connect the two parts of the house.
